What to Use for Upload Volume Size for Duplicati
Kenneth Skovhede
@kenkendk
You tin effort --cheque-filetime-only
to run across if it makes a divergence. Real fix is to make the server utilise inotify and monitor which files are potentially changed, but this is not implemented yet.
with --check-filetime-only 6h instead of 14h ! cheers
Helloo! Some of the computers i'm working with have a very irksome upload speed (0.iv-0.8 mbps) and wondered if at that place are whatever tricks to help the stability/speed of the backup jobs?
@kenkendk sad oasis't been on hither for a while! The destination is to Azure blobs
trying information technology today with the upload volume size cranked all the way downwards

Have you got an exemple of Json generate by duplicati after saving ?
@julian887878 : the simplest would be to install and run duplicati in order to get a existent-time one
Kenneth Skovhede
@kenkendk
@julian887878 Yes, best is to download and wait at what it makes. Here is an example:
{ "CreatedBy": "MiG v1" , "Schedule": { "Repeat": "1D" }, "Fill-in": { "Name": "scheduletest" , "TargetURL": "webdavs://test/path?auth-username=user&auth-password=pass" , "Settings": [ { "Proper name": "encryption-module" , "Value": nil , }, { "Name": "dblock-size" , "Value": "50mb" , } ], } }
delight disregard my query considering its working much amend now after adjusting the book size :)

@julian887878
Thanks yous everyody ! I will test :smiling:
yesterday i've upgraded duplicati and today all my fill-in fails with bulletin "the database has version 7 only the largest supported version is 6"
uhm i think in that location was some problem with qnap installation, i've re-upgraded again, at present it seems working

Are at that place any tricks to getting Duplicati to run in the debugger on Windows subsequently building it? Later setting the TrayIcon equally the startup project and exiting the normal instance of Duplicati, I get the below exception.
"Consul to an instance method cannot have null 'this'."
Here's the stacktrace.
Duplicati.Library.Utility.AsyncHttpRequest.AsyncHttpRequest Line 111 Duplicati.GUI.TrayIcon.HttpServerConnection.PerformRequestInternal<Duplicati.Server.Serialization.Interface.IServerStatus> Line 418 Duplicati.GUI.TrayIcon.HttpServerConnection.PerformRequest<Duplicati.Server.Serialization.Interface.IServerStatus> Line 340 Duplicati.GUI.TrayIcon.HttpServerConnection.UpdateStatus Line 112 Duplicati.GUI.TrayIcon.HttpServerConnection.HttpServerConnection Line 92 Duplicati.GUI.TrayIcon.Program.RealMain Line 202
It is crashing on this line
((HttpWebRequest)m_request).ServerCertificateValidationCallback = HttpContextSettings.CertificateValidator.ValidateServerCertficate;
because HttpContextSettings.CertificateValidator is null.
I tracked that back to StartSession() in CallContextSettings.cs.
acceptAnyCertificate is false, allowedCertificates is null. I set acceptAnyCertificate to truthful, just then I get a "The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request." in AsyncHttpRequest.AsyncWrapper.OnAsync().
Sean Templeton
@seantempleton
Okay, perhaps I spoke also shortly. I causeless that exception was going to stop the program. If I hit F5 to get past information technology, so the web GUI opens
"that exception" beingness the Bad Request. I can continue past that one. But the first one, the "Delegate to an instance method cannot have zip 'this'" kills the program immediately
Kenneth Skovhede
@kenkendk
@seantempleton It should merely piece of work in VS, but the code you lot mention has been inverse a few days ago, I call up I tin reproduce the error, volition attempt to set up information technology asap.
Kenneth Skovhede
@kenkendk
Fixed: duplicati/duplicati@4679c5e

Thanks for the quick ready!
Is at that place a style to identify the current file that is beingness "worked on" past duplicati? whether that be action is verification, restore, or backup?
I can probably place information technology in lsof | grep mono but information technology's not like shooting fish in a barrel to place out of the long list which file is the focus of duplicati at the moment
e.1000. this could be handy when I'grand wondering why the fill-in is taking so long...then I would endeavour to place what new gigantic file is being included in the backup and potentially cancel the backup or exclude it from hereafter backups
Kenneth Skovhede
@kenkendk
Hello, I couldn't detect the answer : is it possible to remove the latest uploaded backup from the remote server ? With the UI / cmdline ? Or maybe be removing the uploaded files (& rebuilding the db ?) ?
"use-case" : I put big files in a folder I supposed to be excluded from backup, but they were uploaded and I only saw that after the backup finished
Kenneth Skovhede
@kenkendk
You can apply the "purge" command to remove specific files from all backups. There is no UI version for it, but there is a "Commandline" section in the WebUI
I tried remove latest backup files from remote + list-cleaved-files
which worked, but purge-cleaved-file
gave the Unable to start the purge process as there are 3 orphan file(s)
error (repair needed for this error I suppose ?) ; so I restored the remote files from the trashbin, went with delete --version=0
, and it seems to work :)
Kenneth Skovhede
@kenkendk
Good that it works. Full general rule: never touch the remote files!
noted ^^
I'm curious, what was the error mentioned about ?
Kenneth Skovhede
@kenkendk
The error message looks a chip strange, because it reports "extra" files are present.
is in that location a mode to instruct Duplicati to ignore open up files?
for example, I have a duplicati job just to backup my virtual motorcar disks, but at the moment, I take one of those disks open.
at the scheduled time, duplicati starts the backup job, just it seems to be reading information technology (verification, perchance?) this is a wasted performance, since the virtual disk is open and backing information technology up volition effect in broken state
Kenneth Skovhede
@kenkendk
No, there is currently no such characteristic.
teej
I utilize Duplicati often.
hi, my duplicati is rebuilding database since 4 days :( is information technology working? how can I know what it's doing and how much does it yet require ?
sqlite file is updated, but only 100mb more than yesterday evening (12h ago)
Howdy Guys, how practise i kickoff a new Backup into a existing Binder on my mega.nz Cloud. I tried To simply Copy The URL from the existing Binder in the Browser an pasted It into the Destination Field in Duplikati. But i get an Fault Box " Folder Non available exercise you want To create a new ane"
Perica Veljanovski
@fbsdmon
I get "The database disk image is malformed" on one of my backups. When I click on "show" I don't go whatsoever more information.
db repair didn't assistance, what can I do to fix this?
is at that place whatsoever style to see/manipulate the chore list for duplicati?
Wow... this channel died at the cease of the year...
Kenneth Skovhede
@kenkendk
i've a 1tb of data, fill-in requires 5-6h, just from a couple of days it's increasing, concluding backup required 8h30m, is information technology because i keep too much versions?
every days i've 100-200mb of new information, non more
Hi, why does information technology take so long for duplicati to check for updated files? There are tools similar Everything for Windows that can search the NTFS index for files in under a second, why isn't possible to do the aforementioned for ex. Appointment Modified?
Deplorable for the naive question
sendell
merely wanted to exist sure, what is the current country of beta VS experimental channels ?
sendell
is beta supposed to exist more stable ? I'm wondering since experimental is the default one
Hullo, Tin someone explain what to really put into the oem-app-name.txt file
I've tried looking everywhere for an instance of what it should contain, ive tried appName="App", i've tried "App" and with and without quotes, and its withal build with the same proper name "Duplicati two"

Hi, if I utilize a VPN (with unknown owners), and forget to click "Use SSL" in Advanced options at showtime when configuring my S3 access, and it syncs files for a while, does information technology mean my S3 credentials were sent in plaintext? The files themselves are AES encrypted anyway, simply wondering if credentials are sent as-is, like username-password on a website, or there'due south a more than clever cryptographic scheme being used
